Day 4

Lodhi Dynasty (1451 - 1526 AD)

Founder - Bahlol Lodhi

Bahlol Lodhi (1451 - 1489 AD)
- started Bahloli coins
- attacked Jonpur city

Sikander Lodhi (1489 - 1517 AD)
He established Agra city in 1504 AD and transferred his capital from Delhi to Agra.

Ibrahim Lodhi (1517 - 1526 AD)
- Babar attacked India and founded the Mughal Dynasty

Mughal Dynasty (1526 -1707 AD)

Babar (1526 - 1530 AD)
Babar was born on 23 February 1483 in Andijan, Uzbekistan. 

Paternal side - Taimur Lang => Babar was from the 5th generation of Taimur Lang
Maternal side - Changez Khan => 14th generation

Father - Umar Sheikh Mirza
Mother - Qutlug Nigar Khan

- took the title of 'Badshah' in 1507 AD

First Battle of Panipat
On 21st April of 1526, Babar attacked Delhi and defeated Ibrahim Lodhi. He used artillery in the battle. Ustad Ali and Mustafa were the head of the artillery department.

Battle of Khanwa
On March 17 of 1527, Babar defeated Rana Sanga in the battle of Khanwa.
He gave the slogan - 'Jihad' and took the title 'Gazi'.

Battle of Chanderi
Babar attacked Madhya Pradesh on 28 January of 1528 and defeated Medini Ray.

Battle of Ghagra
Babar defeated Mahmud Lodhi on 6 May 1529.

Babar died on 26 December 1530 in Agra and was buried in the Garden of Babar in Kabul, Afganistan.
He wrote 'Tuzuk-i-Babari/ Babar Nama' in Turki language.

After the death of Babar, Humayun the king and ruled for about 10 years from 1530 to 1540 AD then Shersha Suri attacked and defeated him.

Sur Dynasty (1540 - 1555 AD)

Founder - Shersha Suri

Shershah Suri (1540 - 1545 AD)
Real name - Farid
He was the Jagirdar of Sasaram (Bihar). He started two coins -
1. Rupaya (silver)
2. Daam (copper)

- built Old Fort of Delhi
- built Tomb of Sasaram
- built GT road from Kolkata to Peshawar

Battle of Chausa
The battle of Chausa took place on 26 June 1539 in Bihar. Shershah Suri defeated Humayun.
Humayun was saved by a swimmer named Bhisti. Humayun made Bhisti the king of Delhi for one day.

Battle of Kannoj (17 May 1540, Bigram, Uttar Pradesh)
Shershah Suri defeated Humayun and captured Delhi.

Shersha Suri attacked Kalinjar in 1545 and died after winning the battle.

Islam Shah Suri (145 -1554 AD)

Adilshah Suri (1554 - 1555 AD)
Humayun defeated Adilshah Suri in the battle of Sirhind (Punjab) and captured Delhi.
