> Maharashtra ranks first in NITI Aayog's ease of doing farm business
Maharashtra achieved the first rank in NITI Aayog's Agricultural Marketing and Farmer Friendly Reforms Index followed by Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

> Economic survey projects 7% GDP growth in current fiscal
The economic survey projects GDP to grow at 7% in 2019-20. The fiscal deficit has been pegged at 3.4% of GDP for 2018-19. The survey has provisionally estimated 2.9% growth rate for the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector.

> ISRO teams up Russian company for mission 'Gangayaan 2022'
ISRO has signed a contract with a Russian company Glavkosmos for selection support, medical examination and space training of Indian astronauts for the maiden manned mission Gangayaan.

> B Harideesh Kumar appointed Director of IBPS
B Harideesh Kumar has been appointed for a period of 3 years. He started his banking career with Vijaya Bank in 1978 and was the Executive Director of Canara Bank recently. IBPS was established in 1975.

> US Economist David Lipton to be Interim Leader of International Monetary Fund

> RBI opens banks' liquidity tap for NBFCs, HFCs
RBI has announced an additional liquidity facility to banks for the purchase of assets from and lending to non-banking financial companies and housing finance companies and housing finance companies. It will enable banks to avail of additional liquidity of Rs. 134000 crore. The SLR is 18.75% now for the banks.

> Public Sector Banks to be provided Rs. 70,000 crore to boost credit
PSBs are provided Rs. 70,000 crore capital to boost credit for a strong impetus to the economy. The government will provide one time six months' partial credit guarantee to PSCs to the first loss of up to 10%.

> Mastercard CEO and Wipro's Chairman Ajay Premji receives excellence award from USISPF
The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum honours Ajay Premji with the 2019 Global Excellence Awards at its Second Annual Leadership Summit in Washington.
Rishad Premji will take over as the chairman of Wipro.

> The longest electrified railway tunnel to be built in India
The South Central Railway has commissioned the longest electrified tunnel of 6.6km built at a total cost of Rs. 460 crore between Cherlopalli and Rapuru stations of Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.

> Kargil tribute song 'Tujhe Bhulega Na Tera Hindustaan' launched 
Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has released a Kargil tribute song to honour, salute and pay homage to the Kargil martyrs and war veterans. The song is composed by eminent Hindi lyricist Sameer Anjaan and sung by Shatadru Kabir.
