Khilafat Movement

  •  1919, Khilafat Movement(Shaukat Ali and Muhammad Ali Jinnah )
President         :      Mahatma Gandhi(MG)
01 Aug 1920    :      MG started "Non-Co-operation Movement"(Bal Gangadhar Tilak died on 1 Aug 1920)
5 Feb 1922     :      "Chauri-Chaura" tragedy (near Gorakhpur, UP). The public killed 22 police officers.
12 Feb 1922    :       MG stopped "Non-Co-operation Movement"

{1922-1929  -  MG either in Jail or Village}

  • Jan 1923        :   Foundation of Swaraj Party(Founders: Motilal Nehru & C.R. Das, Allahabad)

  • 24 Oct 1924  :   Foundation of HRA(Hindustan  Republic Association) [Sachindra Nath Sanyal &                               Yogesh Chaterjee]

  • 9 Aug 1925   :    Kakori Tragedy (near Lucknow, UP )
  1. Members of HRA looted a passenger train (Eight Down  Passenger Train.)
  2. Four members of HRA were hanged till death.
  3. Accused : Ramprasad Bismil, Rajendra Lahedi & Ashfaq Ullah Khan.
  4. Ramprasad Bismil - "Sarfaroshi ki Tamannan, Ab hamare dil mein hai"
  5. Not passengers but Treasure of Government.
  • 3 Feb 1928   :   Simon Commission(White Commission)
          > 7 members- all British
          > Investigation Commission for "Mantengue Chemsford Reform(1919)"

           Lala Lajpat Rai said: "Go Back Simon"
          (Sanderge gave order for 'Lathi Charge' & Saunders executed it. Lala Lajpat Rai died.)

         Neta Vallabh Bhai Patel('Sardar' title) given by women of Bardoli (presenter Mahatma Gandhi)

  • 1928   :  Foundation of HSRA (Hindustan Socialist Republican Association)
          Founder     :   Chandra Shekhar Azad
          Place         :    Ferozshah Kotla

  • 1929    :   Bhagat Singh - Member of HSRA killed Saunders
  1. Bhagat Singh & Batukeshwar Dutt threw a bomb on Delhi Assembly.
  2. Lahore session of Congress (President : Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru ["Complete Swaraj"])
