> Nitesh Kumar Jangir won Innovation for Sustainable Development
Indian engineer Nitesh Kumar won Commonwealth Secretary-General's Innovation for Sustainable DEvelopment award in London, UK. He won the award in the People category, for creating a low-cost breathing support device called 'Saans' for premature babies.

> Sri Lanka launched its first satellite successfully
Raavana-1, Sri Lanka's first-ever satellite, designed and developed by two Sri Lankan engineers was successfully placed in orbit. It was launched from International Space Station along with other two 'BIRDS 3' satellites from Nepal and Japan.

> PU Chitra wins gold in Folksam Grand Prix
India's PU Chitra won the gold medal in women's 1500m at Folksam Grand Prix 2019 held in Sweden. She is also a gold medal winner in Asian Championship held in Doha, Qatar in April 2019. 

> DD India to be available in Bangladesh, South Korea
To boost relationships with its neighbours, India has entered into agreements with Bangladesh and South Korea to broadcast DD Doordarshan channel in two countries and their state channels will be shown on DD Free Dish in India.

> Shefali Juneja appointed India's representative to ICAO's council
Shefali Juneja is a 1992 batch officer of IRS and is currently serving as the Joint Secretary in Ministry of Civil Aviation. She has been appointed to the representative of India post in the council of ICAO, Montreal, Canada.

> Government to revamp Mudra scheme
The Finance Ministry plans to revamp Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna to ensure better access to credit for small firms, boost entrepreneurship and promote financial inclusion.

IndusInd Bank announced 4 July 2019 as the effective date of the merger with Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd. (BFIL).

> Unemployment allowance up to Rs. 3,500 in Rajasthan
Unemployed youth having graduation or equivalent degree will be given unemployment allowance up to Rs. 3,500 by the Rajasthan government.

> Canara Bank to charge for cash deposits
Cash withdrawal more than five times in a month at a Canara Bank branch, you will pay Rs. 100 for every transaction thereafter. The new charges will kick in from July 1. However, Jan Dhan account holders and senior citizens are exempted from the new levy.
