> Rajiv Kumar to be new Finance Secretary
The government has designated financial services secretary Rajiv Kumar as Finance Secretary. He succeeds Subhash Chandra Garg, who was shifted to the position of power secretary. Kumar has played a crucial role in initiating banking reforms for state-run banks.

> Atal Innovation Mission to launch a new programme for Community Innovation
NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission will launch a new programme for Community Innovation in New Delhi. It aims to encourage the spirit of innovation in the country. It will be jointly inaugurated by Rakesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Dharmendra Pradhan,

> RBI eases end-use norms for external commercial borrowing
RBI relaxed norms for end-use of money raised through ECBs. ECBs with a minimum average maturity period of 7 years can be availed for repayment of rupee loans availed domestically for capital expenditure as also by NBFCs for on-lending for the same purpose.

> India and Myanmar signed an MoU on defence cooperation aimed at enhancing training, joint surveillance and maritime security to further strengthen their military ties.
