> Qu Dongyu to head the UN's FAO
Qu Dongyu became the first Chinese national to be elected to head the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization. He will succeed Brazilian Jose Graziano da Silva. FAO is headquartered in Rome.
> Korean Ambassador launched 'Jaipur Foot Korea'
Korean ambassador to India Bong-Kil Shin launched 'Jaipur Foot Korea'. It is a collaborative initiative between Korea and Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Shayata Samiti, a prosthetic limb organization.
> The Kalu Police Station in Rajasthan ranked first in all the police stations of India in a survey conducted by Minister of Home Affairs
> Loan agreement signed between the World Bank and Uttarakhand
The Government of India, the Government of Uttarakhand and the World Bank signed a loan agreement of USD 31.58 million for the Uttarakhand Public Financial Management Strengthening Project.
> Girish A Kaushik from Mysuru became India's 63rd Grandmaster at the 37th Balaton International Chess Festival in Hungary
> Sujit Bhalla Committee on Trade and Policy
High-Level Advisory Group headed by Dr. Surjit S. Bhalla has been constituted by the Department of Commerce. It will look into ways for boosting India's share and the importance of global merchandise and services trade.
> 'Krishi Kiosk' launched by Haryana Government
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Om Prakash Dhankar launched Krishi Kiosk at Panchkula for facilitating the farmers. He also flagged the 'Suchana Rath' facility.

> India signed Rs. 200 crore deal with Russia
India has signed a deal to acquire ' Strum Ataka' anti-tank missile from Russia for its Mi-35 helicopters fleet. Recently, the IAF acquired the Spice-2000 bomb from Israel.
