> India to launch first-ever space war exercise
The Indian Armed Forces are going to conduct 'IndSpaceEx', the country's first-ever simulated warfare exercise. The Ministry of Defense will organize exercise with all the three forces together to assess the imminent threats beyond earth.
> India jumps 5 places to 52nd rank in GII 2019
India improved its ranking in the global innovation index by five places to 52nd in 2019. The GII rankings are published by Cornell University.
> IIT Kanpur partnered with Ericsson
IIT Kanpur and Ericsson will together deploy a narrowband internet of things (NB-IoT) based on sensor networks to monitor air pollution in Delhi. NB-IoT is a low-power wide-area network radio technology standard.
> Nishagandhi Sangeetha Awards conferred
The Minister of Tourism Kadakampally Surendran presented the inaugural Nishagandhi Sangeetha Awards to musicians Parassala B. Ponnammal and T.V. Gopalakrishnan at the function of the five-day music festival Nishagandhi Monsoon Ragas at Nishagandhi Auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
> India's first dragon blood bleeding tree
Dracaena Combodiana, a type of plant has been found in Assam that yields dragon blood, a red color resin used since ancient times as a medicine, body oil, varnish, and dye. This is the first time that a dragon tree species has been reported from India.
> CSR Journal Excellence Awards conferred
The six firms - Tata Power, ReNew Power, Hindustan Zinc, Aditya Birla Capital Ltd, Yes Bank Ltd., and Mahindra & Mahindra emerged as the winner in the 3rd edition of the CSR awards.
> Chetak in Indian Navy
HAL has delivered a Chetak helicopter ahead of schedule to the Indian Navy. Two helicopters were scheduled to be delivered in August 2019 while the remaining 6 were to be delivered in August of 2020.

US regulators formalized a record 5 billion US dollar fine on Facebook for violation of users' privacy in the Cambridge Analytica data scandal involving 87 million users.
> ADB sanctioned Rs 1925 crores for Tripura projects
Asian Development Bank has sanctioned Rs 1,925 crore project for up-gradation of power generation and distribution in Tripura. The project has been sanctioned for upgrading capacity of 63 MW Rokhia Project to 120 MW and modernizing Gumti Hydro Electric Project.
> Rajya Sabha passed POCSO Amendment Bill
The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Amendment Bill 2019 has been passed in Rajya Sabha. The bill seeks to enhance punishment, including a provision of the death penalty, for committing sexual crimes against children.
