> World Day for International Justice - 17 July 

> Chandrakant Kavlekar to be Deputy CM of Goa
Chandrakant Kavlekar is to be designated as Deputy CM of Goa. The Chief Minister of Goa is Pramod Sawant.

> Mohammed Salahuddin won the men's triple jump gold
Mohammed Salahuddin won the men's triple jump gold at the Tatyana Kolpakova memorial International Athletics Meet at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Inderjeet Singh took the shot put gold with 18.67m. He has a personal best of 20.65m which came in 2015. 
Hima Das clocked 23.65 seconds for the women's 200m gold.

> Russia launched a space telescope in Kazakhstan
Russia launched the Spektr-RG satellite from the cosmodrome in Baikonur, Kazakhstan, in a joint mission with Germany.

> Sandeep Sinha resigns as MD of Cummins India

> World Heritage Committee 2020 to be hosted by China 
The city of Fuzhou, China, will host the next session of the World Heritage Committee 2020. This decision concluded the 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee, meeting in Baku.

> RBI imposes a penalty of Rs 7 crore on SBI
RBI slapped a penalty of Rs 7 crore on SBI for violating norms. The penalty has been imposed on SBI for non-compliance of income recognition and asset classification norms, code of conduct for opening and operating current accounts and reporting of data on CRILC (Central Repository of Information on Large Credits).

> Anusuiya Uikey as Chattisgarh Governor
The president of India, Ram Nath Kovind, appointed Ausuiya Uikey, and Biswa Bhusan Harichandan as Governor of Chattishgarh and Andhra Pradesh respectively. Also, Kalraj Mishra was appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

> European Commission elects first female president
German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen has been elected as the European Commission's first female president. She will replace Jean-Claude Juncker.

> Rohan Bopanna and Smriti Mandhana honored with Arjuna award
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju conferred Arjuna Awards to tennis player Rohan Bopanna and women cricketer Smriti Mandhana. Bopanna won gold in Men's Double in Asian Games 2018.

> India to be the first recipient of AIIB local currency funding
India is set to be the first recipient of local currency financing by the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank. Local currency financing providing more options to borrowers India is the second-largest shareholder of Beijing based AIIB with a 7.5% stake.

> Vijyaveer wins Gold at Junior Shooting World Cup
Vijyaveer Sidhu won the gold medal, his 3rd gold medal, at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, combining with Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu and Adarsh Singh in the men's 25m pistol event. India is at the top with 7 golds.

> Palau signs International Solar Alliance Framework agreement
Palau signed the ISA Framework agreement here, lauding India for its efforts in promoting sustainable development projects through South-South cooperation. Palau became the 76th country to sign the ISA agreement. 

> Boxing legend and the winner of Lightweight Boxing at the 1984 Olympics Pernell 'Sweet Pea' Whitaker passed away
