1905 AD - partition of Bengal
Took decision on 19 July 1905 and came into effect on 16 October 1905. Bengal divided into two parts - East Bengal and West Bengal.

Dada Bhai Naroji used the word 'Swaraj'.
First used by Bal Gangadhar Tilak - 'Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it'.
Muslim League (1906)
Nawab Salimulla Khan and Aga Khan founded Muslim League in Dhaka.

First World War (1914 - 1918)
Home Rule League (1916)
Bal Gangadhar Tilak founded Home Rule League in April 1916. The total branches were 6 and the headquarter was at Pune.
Tilak also started 2 newspapers - Kesari (in Marathi) and Maratha (in English)
Bal Gangadhar Tilak was arrested and sent to Mandel Jail in Myanmar in 1908.
Home Rule League by Anne Besant
Anne Besant founded Home Rule League in September 1916 with its headquarters in Madras and total branches were 200.
Anne Besant started two newspapers - New India and Common Weal
1916, Lucknow Session Of Congress
President - Ambica Chandra Pal
Congress, Muslim League, and Extremist Congress all were present in the session.
Mahatma Gandhi (02/10/1869 - 30/01/1948)
Mahatma Gandhi returned India on the request of his political guru Gopal Krishnan Gokhle on 9 January 1915.
