> First women of color appointed Bishop
The church of England's first women of color bishop has been appointed by Downing Street. Rose-Hudson-Wilkin, the chaplain to the speaker of the House of Commons, was announced as the new bishop of Dover.
> RBI relaxed leverage ratio for banks
The LR reduced to 4% for Domestic Systemically Important Banks (DSIBs) and 3.5% for the other banks effective from the quarter commencing October 1, 2019, to boost their lending activities.
> Govt. cut the interest rate on small saving schemes
PPF and NSC will fetch an annual interest rate of 7.9% instead of 8%, while the Kisan Vikas Patra will yield 7.6%.
